The Pentair FreshPoint GRO-475BP is a compact 4-stage reverse osmosis system that’s part of Pentair's FreshPoint series—a collection of systems designed for easy operation and convenient under-sink installation. This system also features a booster pump for households or feed-water-conditions with lower than recommended water pressure (see operation recommendations in specifications). Sized at 12.54 inches high by 17.82 inches wide by 5.46 inches deep, the Pentair FreshPoint GRO-475BP can fit comfortably under most sinks. With standard 3/8-inch push-fit plumbing connections, the installation becomes more straightforward. This system is third-party certified by NSF International for the reduction of a variety of contaminants (see chart in specifications), including contaminants that are difficult to remove using conventional filtration methods. The Pentair FreshPoint GRO-475BP Reverse Osmosis System delivers low-flow filtered water on demand through a dedicated faucet and stores up to 4 gallons of filtered water in an integrated storage tank. As a 4-stage reverse osmosis system you get 4 replaceable cartridge filters. Every additional cartridge filter to the reverse osmosis membrane serves to enhance filtration capabilities and filter lifespan. All cartridge filters are equipped with effortless click-in, click-out connections, making for faster, tool-free filter replacements. Integrated check valves allow each filter to be replaced without shutting off the home’s water supply. No splash, no spray! Each filter is color-coded and clearly labeled to prevent installation mistakes.
The 4 included replaceable cartridge filters are:
- FDF1-RC (light blue): Sediment and chlorine pre-filter
- GRO75-RC (green): 75 GPD Reverse osmosis membrane
- F1B1-RC (dark blue): Carbon post-filter
- F1GC-RC (magenta): Polishing carbon post-filter
The system functions by pushing water through a semi-permeable reverse osmosis membrane. This membrane contains microscopic pores that allow water molecules to pass through while rejecting most dissolved contaminants. The pre-filter protects the membrane by removing sediment and chlorine. The Pentair FreshPoint GRO-475BP features 2 carbon post-filters to improve the taste and odor of water. These filters also provide extended opportunity to filter out potentially stubborn organic contaminants.
The GRO-475BP features an added booster pump for households or feed water conditions with lower than recommended water pressure (see operation requirements in specifications). See the specifications tab to ensure you have water pressure above what is recommended for this model. If your water pressure is above what is recommended, perhaps consider model GRO-475B, a model better suited for standard to higher water pressure.
Under normal operating conditions, the pre-filter and post-filters are all rated to last up to 12 months. This filter lifespan is twice as long as what is typically recommended by many comparable quick-connect filter systems. The reverse osmosis membrane is rated to last up to 18 months. With long-lasting filters like these, you can rest easy knowing you won’t have to deal with the cost of frequent filter replacements.
The GRO-475BP includes a dedicated air-gap drinking water faucet, which is required for most reverse osmosis installations unless the system is connected directly to a refrigerator with a built-in water dispenser or ice maker.

This system is designed for use on all chlorinated and non-chlorinated potable water supplies. It is an excellent choice for most homes. If you do not receive your water from a municipal water system (you get your water from a well, lake or other non-treated source), you should have your water tested to ensure it is biologically safe (free of bacteria, viruses, and other harmful microorganisms) before using a reverse osmosis filter as your only water treatment. If your water is biologically contaminated, you should consider a point-of-use or whole-house ultraviolet purifier in addition to your reverse osmosis unit to kill any remaining microorganisms. The Pentair FreshPoint GRO-475BP RO System mounts under your sink, in your home, or in your RV, out of sight. Water supply is gained by attaching a simple adapter to your cold water supply pipe (copper or plastic). You will have to drill a hole in your countertop or sink frame to attach the air gap faucet, unless you are connecting the RO system to your fridge ice-maker or dispenser. drilling a hole in your countertop or sink frame is a relatively easy do-it-yourself project, or if you prefer, you can have it installed by a handyman or plumber.
